What we found in real answers
In logged-out tests of 24 local-service prompts (dental, legal, auto repair, remodeling, roofing and veterinary) on Oct 15, 2026, each ChatGPT answer named three to five businesses and each Google AI Mode answer named three to nine. Several well-reviewed businesses that rank on Google were named by neither. No ads appeared in any of those answers.
